A month ago, pg_resetxlog got an -f flag:
-f force reset xlog to be done, if the control
file is corrupted, then try to restore it.
However, the patch had identifiable problems that are still not fixed:

Unless these problems are fixed in the next few days, the patch will be
reverted.
