Many things might be useful, but the aim of the "table partitioning" venture is believed to be the provision of a transparent interface to the existing do-it-yourself partitioning facilities. Therefore, the logical definition of a table must continue to work unchanged (or alternatively, the use of the feature must be prohibited if that cannot be guaranteed in a particular case). Other features such as uniqueness on a partition basis might also be useful but you can do that today and you don't need partitioning for that. -- Peter Eisentraut http://developer.postgresql.org/~petere/ ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- TIP 4: Have you searched our list archives? http://archives.postgresql.org
