That would zap occurrences in the middle of the string, though.
regexp_replace would be better since it'd allow anchoring the
pattern, eg

select regexp_replace('<BR/>ROI Engineering Inc.', '^<BR/>', '');
select regexp_replace('ROI Engineering Inc.<BR/>', '<BR/>$', '');
