Exposing technical details as names can look cool in first instance, but the same as the java vm is not named “hotspotJitWithALotOfDetailsWhichIDoNotRemember” and the python vm is not called “pythonBasedOnLLVM”, there is not real reason to use a technical name for us either. so… we took the names Pharo and PharoS because people should use regularly Pharo, and when they do not have another chance, a PharoS (which can be interpreted as a “Pharo Stack” if you know the technical details, but also as “Pharo Small” or “Pharo Stripped” if you are not… and you have a but of imagination :) ).
