What if you put your gofer expression to load PetitParser in a block closure and then:
SystemAnnouncer uniqueInstance suspendAllWhile: [ Gofer it ... ] ? (I don't know what Pharo version you are using...but if that doesn't work check in BlockClosure for doSilently: or something similar).
