FWIW, I also have the VIA VT8233 sound chip on my Shuttle motherboard (I won't be able to verify that it's identical to yours until I get home this evening). I couldn't get it to work under RH8.0 until I installed alsa, but phoebe picked it up on install and it works on every boot. If there is any information or config file that I can send you that might help, please let me know. > That's what I did, as well; the complaint I have is that I have to do it > again, every boot. > > Had to do this before, on an older machine (K6-2/P5A/Ensonique), from RH > 7.1 forward; I put it down to it being an old motherboard, and didn't > worry about it, but having hit it again with something so bleeding edge > that the 2.5 kernels won't boot on it, I'm starting to wonder. I'm not using a 2.5 kernel, but the one that came with phoebe3 (again, the version would have to wait until I get home). I don't know if that makes a difference. Good luck, and let me know if I can help, Rick ------------------------------------------------ This email was sent using IMP v4.0-cvs, part of the Horde suite of information management tools. http://horde.org/ -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. -- Phoebe-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/phoebe-list
