Because we do do PPC builds. Actually, Red Hat Linux packages have been built for x86, x86_64, ia64, alpha, ppc, ppc64, s390, s390x, of which many or all are available in rawhide to download. The ppc distribution is built for IBM pSeries, and iSeries server machines and not for Apple hardware, although it is technically possible I am told to do a hackish install of it on Mac, but I don't have Mac hardware and can't confirm how easy/hard it is to accomplish that. <personal opinion> Yellow Dog Linux, is very heavily Red Hat Linux based, and I'd encourage any Red Hat Linux user using a Mac, to try it out. Dan Burcaw does a great job at maintaining YDL. </opinion> TTYL -- Mike A.
