The last patent on this one is 1897, and I know they had some 1898 patents on 
them too, so I assumed that it falls somewhere in between. I would say 1898 as 
it is all nickel with the flat key, and has an apparently homemade case, though 
the top is nicely made and has an aged patina. When I recieve it I will post a 
pic, it might fit in one of your upcoming books!

Perhaps you're thinking of the Type "B" Graphophone?)
