Guys,

A friend was asking me about a child's acoustic phonograph and whether the
tonearm was original. It 'looks' to be but there is also a slotted area where
it looks like an electronic speaker could have been installed. The base is made
of what looks like some sort of plastic or bakelite. Maybe it's a transition
player that came equipped both ways? I can email a couple pics if anybody would
like to have a look and help solve this puzzle.

Thanks and Happy Holidays,

Bruce

Hi Bruce,
I have a few Childs machines. I'd take a look. Maybe I can help.

My family is going to be going to Paris next week to visit my eldest
daughter who is studying there. We will be there for 9 days and will be
there over the weekend. I am looking for input as where to look for
phonos. Is there a market that has dealers that are more likely to have
phono's music boxes and related items? Visiting other collectors would
be great as well. Any insights would be appreciated!
Please respond off list.
