____________________________________ Subj: Ken is recovering Friends of Ken Woodbury: This will probably be the last message I send to all of you about Ken. The latest information I have is that he is now in a private room and can receive phone calls. He is still in Saint Joseph's Hospital in Patterson, NJ. I have been unable to reach him this morning, due to busy signals, so he must be chatting away. The hospital operator told me that his direct number is 973-754-5120. (The hospital switchboard is 973-754-2000.) He is feeling much better and has even been telling a few jokes. With luck he will be heading back to NH in a few days. I'll bet he never expected to be the center of attention at MME #21! It's a day many of us will remember. There are lots of potential miss directions. I generally mark the barrels as to left or right and either transfer that to a sketch or printed photo. Then I sketch spring directions and write CC or CW. (there must be a better way to say it), but I had wondered if one of the springs could have been started in the wrong direction. If that were done, it might have some funny behavior, or possibly, the motor could not be wound at all. And too, packing directions with a 4 spring motor could give you some strange effects if one spring was inserted in reverse. ????? The "Victor thump" is enough of an annoyance, without having the motor not working properly! > [Original Message] > From: Ron L <lhera...@bu.edu> > To: Antique Phonograph List <phono-l@oldcrank.org> > Date: 4/30/2009 10:49:41 AM > Subject: RE: [Phono-L] 4 spring credenza motor problem > > I do have an electric C.
