The Union show has come and gone. The crowds were a bit down year probably
due to the weather. It was great to see everyone again. It is almost like
a family reunion in a way. I have been attending this show since 1982 and
this is the second year that I set up with another collector friend of mine
to sell. I was able to part with some excess machines and parts and picked
up a nice Rigid arm Victor MS. It had a badly damaged reproducer, beyond
repair. I thought I was going to be in for a several year quest to find a
replacement reproducer. Shortly after buying the MS, a dealer was unloading
his van and had a Rigid arm E parts machine and an extra Rigid arm back
bracket. Inside the case was a very nice original Rigid arm reproducer. A
dealer I know was already checking out the items and had the reproducer in
his hand. He looked at me and said "You need to go for this, not me" Thank
you Craig!!!!! My quest to find a Rigid arm reproducer only lasted about
two hours. I also found what was described to me as an oversize horn for a
Victor Rigid arm M or MS. It is much larger than one used on a front mount
machine. One collector has one on his Rigid arm MS. It uses a crane that
mounts in the little bracket cover when you remove the front mount support
arm. The horn is threaded on the small end and has a hanger ring. The
other collector's horn like this still has the Victor decal on it. The one
I bought doesn't. You just never know what might show up at Union!!!!!

Let's hope the Donley's keep this show going for many more years. The
recent uprising of a competing show the last few years is a bit
disappointing. What the Donley's started 35 years ago has grown into a
great event for all of us. They have invested heavily into making this
event what it is. If someone wants to start another show, so be it. But,
don't siphon off of this show. Pick another time of year and maybe even
somewhere else. Sorry, but that's just my 2 cents worth.
