dear sir/madam, i have installed flex and bison again. however the same problems still occurred. (my procedure is : download the flex-2.5.4a.tar.gz and bison-1.33.tar.gz ) then copy to /usr/local/ and go to their directory and "./configure" and "make" and "make install". (Perl is also pre loaded) However, i tried to install PHP by use php*.tar.gz or *.rpm are both failed. i don't know why. Isn't the computer missed some gcc (compilers such as C compiler or others). Please give me a hand . thanks. when i tried to install by using un-tar *.tar.gz. the error is as below: firstly, i saved the un-tar directory in /tmp/php-4.1.2/** it is a root user too.
