About libtool: PHP does not use any external libtool unless you force it to do it..so are you doing something you shouldn't be doing? :) PHP uses the bundled libtool version 1.5.20. With the suggested fix nm does find all necessary file an works OK. I have tested the fix on AIX 5.2 and AIX 5.3 with IBM XL C/C++ 8.0 and gcc 3.3.
