From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Operating system: linux PHP version: 5.2.4 PHP Bug Type: Streams related Bug description: fopen() fails on HTTP/1.1 304 Not Modified
Description: ------------ When passing in an ETag or Last-Modified header to fopen() with a remote http stream, the fopen() fails with a warning: Warning: fopen(http://pear.php.net/rest/r/pear/allreleases.xml): failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 304 Not Modified This is incorrect behavior. 304 is a valid response code which is useful for HTTP caching. The correct response is to allow the stream to return, and require users to use stream_get_meta_data() to retrieve the response headers. Now, the only way is to parse the error message, an ugly hack at best -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=42800&edit=1 -- Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 4.4): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=trysnapshot44 Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 5.2): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=trysnapshot52 Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 6.0): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=trysnapshot60 Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=needscript Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=globals PHP 3 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=php3 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=gnused Floating point limitations: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=float No Zend Extensions: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=42800&r=mysqlcfg
