Trying to install Sun Java App Server on Fedora 6 drove me crazy with glibc error, the installation used to abort with ****glibc detected**** doubly linked list corruption. After much research and trying out all sorts of glibc packages, I read on google about heap correction checking through variable environment variable MALLOC_CHECK_ Its value should be one of 0 to ignore corruptions 1 to print to stderr(3) 2 to abort immediately What I immediately did is $ export MALLOC_CHECK_=0 and the installation of Sun Java App Server did not abort nxt time. Hope this work around has sme benefits !!
