We wrap around the PCRE library and can only use whats available, so
this isn't possible

I wish for a PCRE function to get the minimum matching length of a
regular expression. For example:
* preg_min_length('/^HTTP.*/'): 4
* preg_min_length('/^(?:HTTP)?.+/'): 1
* preg_min_length('/^(?:HTTP)?.*/'): 0
