It works if you install it from an elevated* command line. To install or change: msiexec /i php-5.2.8-win32-installer.msi To remove: msiexec /x php-5.2.8-win32-installer.msi I think it had been fixed (see bug #46962) but for some reason the MSI installers still fail. (*) To open an elevated console you need to find the "Command Prompt" icon, right click on it and "Run as administrator".
