bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel
that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
to be the same.

Duplicate of bug #48276

It's fixed in SVN already and only affects big endian machines.

I can not reproduce this. date('Y') outputs 2009 for me.
