After reinstalling a bunch of components to find the cause of this weird issue, I upgraded my kernel and it fixed it. I unfortunately don't know the reason behind but at least it works well now. To properly diagnose the problem, we need a short but complete example script to be able to reproduce this bug ourselves. A proper reproducing script starts with <?php and ends with ?>, is max. 10-20 lines long and does not require any external resources such as databases, etc. If the script requires a database to demonstrate the issue, please make sure it creates all necessary tables, stored procedures etc. Please avoid embedding huge scripts into the report. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-07-12 08:00:45] sjoerd-php at linuxonly dot nl Thank you for your bug report. How do you run these scripts? From the command line or from the browser? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2009-07-11 17:12:36] contact at juzaz dot com Description: ------------ When running 2 batch scripts simultaneously, getting weird errors like: Fatal error: Call to undefined function substr() in xxx.php on line 125 The problem is obviously not related to the source code as it happens with built-in functions. It also happens with custom class functions sometimes. The problem doesn't seem to exist when a single php process is running. Unfortunately the problem is not reproductible intentionnally. The exact same code and conditions will sometimes work and other times fail. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=48888&edit=1
