From: Operating system: any/all PHP version: Irrelevant Package: Unknown/Other Function Bug Type: Feature/Change Request Bug description:Replace in-browser javascript terp with php terp
Description: ------------ PHP is already far more stable and solidly defined than Javascript or any of its permutations is. That advantage will continue through the foreseeable future. Providing a browser-resident php terp would allow people to exploit their php experience to create client-side javascript-type functionality without actually having to struggle with all the javascript craziness. (Just a data point from personal experience: I've been programming since 1975, in everything from 8-bit Basic to CDC CP & PP assembly languages. After a month of struggle, I gave up on trying to add javascript functionality to my php apps. The evidence suggests that the language was designed by a kitten with a ball of yarn.) -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=51717&edit=1 -- Try a snapshot (PHP 5.2): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=trysnapshot52 Try a snapshot (PHP 5.3): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=trysnapshot53 Try a snapshot (PHP 6.0): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=trysnapshot60 Fixed in SVN: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=fixed Fixed in SVN and need be documented: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=needdocs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=needscript Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=globals PHP 4 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=php4 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=gnused Floating point limitations: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=float No Zend Extensions: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51717&r=mysqlcfg
