My SMTP server (local) outgoing service is set to anonymous authentication and so requires no user name or password to send outgoing mail. MS SMTP is running and works fine with CDONTS in ASP. But PHP cannot send email if php.ini is set to SMTP =localhost or to SMTP =127.0.0.1.
