 New Comment:

Do you see a chance to use some debugging proxy
to retrieve the actual HTTP requests sent in
both cases?

there *should* be no difference in what the
browser sends in all 4 cases, but IE sometimes
does funny things, esp. when talking to iis ...

[2003-01-17 00:34:01] [EMAIL PROTECTED]

PHP 4.3.0 on IIS 5 (Win2k Server, SP3) crashes when I access the site
using Internet Explorer (Versions 5.5 AND 6.0) with the following
URLs:

'hostname/' and 'hostname'(minus the quotation marks)

However, 'http://hostname/' works, and so does 'http://hostname'.

The error message given is: 'PHP has encountered an Access Violation at
45524F4D'.
