Check the config.log for reason WHY that failed.. Your configure line doesn't look quite okay either. Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2003-02-27 16:55:34] predrag dot stefanovic at telus dot com I tried to rebuild with the php4-STABLE-2003-02272030 version, as Iliaa suggested, but it failed on config with unrelated problem. Sorry. ./configure --with-apache=/usr3/apache1327/apache_1.3.27 \ --with-ldap=/opt/ldap \ --with-oracle=/opt/oracle/7.3.4 \ --with-cpdflib=/usr/local \ --with-ttf=/opt/freetype \ --with-gd=/opt/gd /opt/freetype \ --without-mysql ... configure: failed program was: #line 17130 "configure" #include "confdefs.h" ... configure: error: Problem with libjpeg.(a|so). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2003-02-27 15:48:23] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please try using this CVS snapshot: http://snaps.php.net/php4-STABLE-latest.tar.gz For Windows: http://snaps.php.net/win32/php4-win32-STABLE-latest.zip Just for the record I cannot replicate the bug on Win32 or Linux. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2003-02-27 15:27:28] predrag dot stefanovic at telus dot com Here is the code: $item_range = $conn->results_array[0][0] . " - "; $item_range .= $conn->results_array[0][1]); The ) is left over from a removed command. This mistake did not generate a parse error, but caused a segmentation fault in [Apache1.3.20 PHP 4.0.5] and hang task on [Apache 1.3.27 PHP 4.3.0 ]. The code is from an included file. Trying to run the included file on it's own did generate the parse error. On the OLD System: Apache/1.3.20 PHP/4.0.5 on HP-UX B.10.20 A 9000/898 it creates segmentaion fault without parse error. On the NEW System: Apache/1.3.27 PHP/4.3.0 on HP-UX B.10.20 A 9000/898 ita hangs task forever without any parse error. OLD System ( segmentation fault ) ./configure' '--without-mysql' '--enable-track-vars' '--enable-memory-limit' '--with-apache=/dba/dummy2/webuser/nps/build/apache_1.3.20' '--with-ttf=/opt/freetype' '--with-oracle=/opt/oracle/7.3.4' '--enable-wddx' '--with-gd=/opt/gd' '--enable-ftp' '--enable-bcmath' '--with-xml' '--with-ldap=/opt/ldap' '--with-cpdf=/opt/ClibPDF' mod_php4, mod_setenvif, mod_auth, mod_access, mod_alias, mod_userdir, mod_actions, mod_imap, mod_asis, mod_cgi, mod_dir, mod_autoindex, mod_include, mod_status, mod_negotiation, mod_mime, mod_log_config, mod_env, http_core NEW System ( hang httpd task ) './configure' '--with-apache=/usr3/apache1327/apache_1.3.27' '--with-ldap=/opt/ldap' '--with-oracle=/opt/oracle/7.3.4' '--with-cpdflib=/usr/local' '--with-ttf=/opt/freetype' '--with-gd=/opt/gd' '/opt/freetype' '--without-mysql' '--without-mysql' mod_php4, mod_setenvif, mod_auth, mod_access, mod_alias, mod_userdir, mod_actions, mod_imap, mod_asis, mod_cgi, mod_dir, mod_autoindex, mod_include, mod_status, mod_negotiation, mod_mime, mod_log_config, mod_env, http_core ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=22465&edit=1
