I tried on a Redhat 9.0 with oracle-9.2.0.1 and it does crash as well

Reduce your configure options to bare minimum,
only use --with-apxs, --with-oci8 and --with-ldap and
don't compile them as shared!

Do this using the latest snapshot above.
