I don't understand why this bug is marked as "bogus" - this bug still exists with 4.3.3! I'm using Apache 1.3.28 + PHP-4.3.3 with external GD 2.0.15 from http://www.rime.com.au/gd/ (because I need the GIF support), and this causes the Segmentation faults reported below. Should I open a new bug report with the same issue?
