Thank you for taking the time to write to us, but this is not a bug. Please double-check the documentation available at http://www.php.net/manual/ and the instructions on how to report a bug at http://bugs.php.net/how-to-report.php You should be using mysql_escape_string() and not addslashes(). Previous Comments: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2003-10-20 13:24:39] gameRevolt at assimsoft dot com Description: ------------ An Extended Ascii code understands the following as types of quote... 0x91 0x92 0x93 0x94 mySQL uses this, and thus these need escaping by addslashes (or magic slashes). POST/GET strings involving these will not be escaped properly and thus queries involving those strings will fail. See around line 2485 of ext/standard/string.c ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Edit this bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=25925&edit=1
