You need the -dev package installed too. Please check your libxml2 installation. I have the libxml2 rpm installed, but it is not being recognized. I have unistalled and reinstalled libxml2 without effect. Attempting to install with the following hardware/software configuratration: Mandrake 9.1 Apache 2.0.48 on a AMD Athalon system.
