From: php at plouk dot net Operating system: Linux debian PHP version: Irrelevant PHP Bug Type: PHP options/info functions Bug description: Script missing for the generation of session's directory
Description: ------------ I haven't found the script which could create the directory structure for the N-level deep session storage ... "NOTE 1" indicate the ext/session directory, but there is only c files. ; Argument passed to save_handler. In the case of files, this is the path ; where data files are stored. Note: Windows users have to change this ; variable in order to use PHP's session functions. ; As of PHP 4.0.1, you can define the path as: ; session.save_path = "N;/path" ; where N is an integer. Instead of storing all the session files in ; /path, what this will do is use subdirectories N-levels deep, and ; store the session data in those directories. This is useful if you ; or your OS have problems with lots of files in one directory, and is ; a more efficient layout for servers that handle lots of sessions. ; NOTE 1: PHP will not create this directory structure automatically. ; You can use the script in the ext/session dir for that purpose. ; NOTE 2: See the section on garbage collection below if you choose to ; use subdirectories for session storage session.save_path = /tmp -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=26784&edit=1 -- Try a CVS snapshot (php4): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=trysnapshot4 Try a CVS snapshot (php5): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=trysnapshot5 Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=needscript Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=globals PHP 3 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=php3 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=gnused Floating point limitations: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=26784&r=float
