The mysql 4.1.x doesn't work either. The windows build of php on the php.net web site appears to be built with mysql 3.x, but no longer includes it. Perhaps we need php_mysql.dll and php_mysql4.dll as extensions. It's looking for mysql_drop_db in libmysql.dll but it can't find it since it's deprecated.
