A work around - $rhost = @gethostbyaddr($REMOTE_ADDR);

REMOTE_HOST is only available if your web server is configured to do
dns lookups on each request.  By default dns lookups are not turned on
in Apache, so I would guess that this is your problem and that it has
nothing to do with PHP.

$REMOTE_HOST doesn't work in php4.0.3pl1. Maybie this bug has been
submitted already, but i coul'd not find a list of submitted bugs.
