So? It might mean that it's just no longer compatible with PHP 4.3.5;
those things happen.
Anyway, the problem does seem related to something else though:
persistent resources in zend extensions.

Report this bug to the zend guys then, as it is not a problem with PHP
but with their optimizer.

Without php.ini all works and do not carshes.
The same config with php 4.3.4 works fine.
