Looks like same kind of crash has been experienced before, here's one example: http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-dev/2002-August/027952.html This is not PHP bug but GCC / binutils bug. Retried. Same errors. Went so far as to rename Solaris' /usr/bin/sed, /usr/ucb/sed and /usr/xpg4/bin/sed to different names so that they never are used. Retried.
