This new go-pear.phar and php5 zip file fixed the problem for me. Thanks. I got 8 or so warnings about not being able to parse my timezone (TZ=EST5EDT4,M4.1.0/2,M10.5.0/2), but I can live with these. When I reset TZ to just 'EST' php stops giving me these warnings.
