No, I think if we have working solution for a real problem, even if it's not perfect - it is the reason to use it and "I can vaguely imagine something better but nobody would ever actually do it" is not a valid reason to reject it. If there's some real problem - fine, but just because of imaginary better solution that would never happen - I don't think it makes any sense, sorry.
