I think I might want to have a look at this. The idea is that the
working copy of the array has references to the elements of the
original array rather than copies, right? Would a fix be welcome?

Personally I would prefer foreach() not to copy the array at all, but
rather save and restore the original pointer, but I suppose the behavior
can't change.

Bug ID 8373 is the same I think.
