Yeah, Christian Rabe reported this bug to me a couple of months ago, I
guess it's now been verified :)
As far as I recall, trans_sid plugs into the output mechanism in a
dedicated way, which is not compatible with output
buffering/manipulation. It should probably change to use the output
buffering mechanism instead, which should make it work with output
compression automatically. I could be wrong about this though, I haven't
actually looked into it.
