From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Operating system: FreeBSD PHP version: 4.0.6 PHP Bug Type: Mail related Bug description: getmxrr returns an invalid false message when... getmxrr is designed to return a list of mx records found for a host. According to smtp rfcs, if no mx records are found, then the hostname's A record is considered to be the lowest mx. Take for example the following hostname: genet.sickkids.on.ca This is a separate zone which does not have any MX records. It has an A record and that suffices for people to receive email on that hostname. getmxrr should be changed so that it should also return true if: no mx records are found, BUT an A record exists for the hostname. Why? Because smtp rfc's state that if there are no mx records, the A record should be considered to be the lowest priority "mx" record. -- Edit bug report at: http://bugs.php.net/?id=12385&edit=1 -- PHP Development Mailing List <http://www.php.net/> To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To contact the list administrators, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
