Hmm i don't know how much work must be put into the apache2 support i just know that people are discussing everywhere (f.e. slashdot) when finally PHP will support Apache2. It depends what you like more... Beta code tested in the wild (not only by QA members but on ALL weird platforms) or QAed code that will be not working on some systems/platforms, too.
