Sorry, but that's a copout. It expects way to much of the user. If it's going to remain experimental, OR the api is going to continue to change in incompatible ways, it shouldn't be part of the standard PHP distribution. We have a means to distribute extensions outside of PHP now, IMO experimental extensions should not be allowed into the core PHP distribuation any longer. PECL it.
