I respectfully disagree with Samantha. While I have the utmost of respect for her and Graham I think she under-recognizes the influence they have on each other from daily contact. Yes, of course two other people are also capable of this level of colluding, but in relationships it is much more likely.
I brought this up (https://groups.google.com/d/msg/php-fig/zodl4m33NzU/HJqThTzHBwAJ) prior to Graham withdrawing the League vote entirely. Whether the two actions are linked or not is coincidental. I feel it is an issue if these two are even a part of the group together, let alone in similar leadership roles. in fact, in the past, by Graham withdrawing i changed my vote for secretary making Samantha my first choice. (see https://groups.google.com/d/msg/php-fig/mfyCwz05RNE/Za1hRB1HCQAJ) Otherwise she was much lower in my list due to the conflict, though I clearly felt she was capable. I do not feel Graham's nomination should be allowed while Samantha is a Secretary, and a Samantha nomination to the CC should only be recognized if Graham remains an outside contributor. We've had many conflict of interests this past year in the FIG. We should not continue to make exceptions.
