Hmm... I'm not really sure if I understand this but...
First, NOT all "mail clients" will add this:

  ----- Original Message -----

to the original message. Besides, there are many ways how each 
individual would quote the original message. So, writing a script
that would identify THE original messages would be, IMHO, next to
impossible...

What is the purpose anyway?
