Dan, Thanks so much for the help - I learned a lot from your reply. I'll chew on this a while and go from there. BTW- yes, that really was my user and pwd up until now! Dumb now I realize, thanks for pointing that out. I've created a new root pwd, and created a user with access only to the "alumni" db.
