If you are talking about the input name for a text box use this snippit...
<?php
is(empty($_POST['variable_001']) {
// Do negative result code
} elseif(!empty($_POST['variable_001']) {
// Do positive result code
...
Or if it the name of the "actual form" you want try setting a hidden field with the same name as the form.
ex.
<form name="form_001" action="nextpage.php">
<input type="hidden" name="form_001" value="form_001">
