Hi,

There is a topic called transparent proxying. Don't have any links in my bookmarks but if you visit either the squid proxy websites or the iptables website you will find it. (this is usually done with this combination but can be done with other proxy/firewall combos as well).

Basically what happens is that at the network layer all outbound port 80 traffic is redirected by iptables to the proxy server (which will have to run on a different port). Most ISPs in asia resort to this tactic.
