There's actually no --with-dom option at all, just --without-dom..
Master blaster, it seems you're one of those guys here who knows everything about usage and misusage of PHP and its build system.
Probably you are also able to tell me what is the reason behind the decision to force me, as average beginner user of PHP, to use --with-xyz for configure for about one half of the extensions and --enable-yzx for the other half?
For Apache I say s.th. like --enable-all=shared and I'm done, the configure does what it is good for, it figures out which libraries are available and builds all possible extensions or skips them, but never is exiting for nothing or getting some dependencies wrong. But I'm sure that this is too much for such a sophisticated system like it is in use for PHP.
