Not to rag on you or that this isn't feasible but you sure do place a high reliance on PHP/MySQL when you haven't a clue how to use either one of them. And to go from a true 3D environment model to a...well, an SSI language with a database is quite a drastic change. With today's advance editors (Doom 3, Unreal, Half-Life 2 soon...) I would think using these would produce better and quicker results. And you don't even have to know how to code.
