I kindly redirect you to google for LAMP which is short for Linux Apache MySQL PHP I have also learned to setup this kind of system on Fedora Core 3. While you CAN rely on the rpms, you're better of compiling each yourself (exluding Linux). For example, the precompiled rpms from Fedora (read Red Hat) do not include GD on php. Required items: An internet connection A good deal of time Much more patience Much commitment.
