I think you're kidding. I write web applications all the time and constrain my line width's to 80 columns. If you are speaking to embedded HTML code then I can see your problem.. but I use a good templating system which keeps most html out of my code... and I never use what I consider to be the ugliest style of all... switching back and forth between PHP and HTML mode.
