yes, glob works well.
here is an example to get pictures inside a folder ($path)
foreach(glob($path."/*/{*.gif,*.jpg,*.JPG,*.jpeg,*.JPEG,*.png}", GLOB_BRACE) as
$filename){
$pics[]=$filename;
}
