i just posted my exact code and the url used to invoke it. to change it to work from the cli; ive changed $_GET['sourceFile'] to $argv[1], and $_GET['destFile'] to $argv[2]. then i can run it as follows php mEncode.php WindowsMedia.wmv WindowsMedia.avi and it works on my box. -nathan
